Where historic charm meets modern suburban living, just 28 miles north of downtown Houston.
Spring's story began in 1871 when the International and Great Northern Railroad built through the area, triggering rapid expansion. By 1884, the community had grown to 150 residents with 2 steam mills, 2 cotton gins, 3 churches, and several schools.
In the early 1900s, Spring became a major railroad switchyard with a roundhouse facility. At its peak in 1910, the town boasted 1,200 residents and 200 rail workers managing 14 track yards. The Spring State Bank opened in 1912, becoming a landmark institution.
When the roundhouse relocated to Houston in 1923, Spring experienced a decline, with population dropping to just 300 by 1931. However, the town recovered, and by the 1970s-1980s, Houston's oil boom brought suburban expansion northward, transforming Spring into a thriving modern community.
